Dr. Steven T. Leask
June 1, 1950 – November 1, 2016
We will dearly miss him–advocate, colleague, and friend. He was a down-to-earth person with a great sense of humor who took his commitment to the use of technology in education very seriously. He was highly respected on campus for his support of faculty and advocating for the use of technology as a way to expand access to all students.
Steve was a member of the Tsimshian tribe. He served as a helicopter pilot in Korea, Vietnam, and Alaska as Chief Warrant Officer. He was awarded the Air Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He earned an MBA (’97) and a Doctoral degree in Educational Administration (’03) from NMSU. Steve also began working at NMSU in 1997.
His wife Elizabeth (Libby), their three children, nine grandchildren, family, and friends thank you for honoring him.
